Vancouver-based JESSIA started singing before she could talk, and at age two, had already charmed a crowd at the local legion. After struggling to find her place in a sometimes-cruel industry, everything changed for her in 2021 with the massive success of “I’m Not Pretty”. Fuelled by TikTok popularity, the four-time JUNO nominee is coming into her own as a songwriter, as well as singer, and is one of the most inspiring breakout artists of year. “I want all of my songs to feel like you’re sitting down and having a cup of tea with me,” she smiles. “It’s very minimalistic. To me, less is more,” she says.
